April’s event will feature two speakers whose programs have been cancelled in the past. Tom Lager and Wayne Parmley will give their presentations on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Fin ‘N’ Feather, 22 W. Main St., Winneconne.
Tom will present “The Giant Mayflies of Wisconsin” from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
He will focus this presentation on three species: the Brown Drake, Hex and the White Mayfly, along with references to other related species. His has had a lifelong interest in bugs, especially aquatic bugs found in our trout streams. Tom holds a master’s degree in Aquatic Ecology and worked with the Minnesota DNR and consulted for the pulp and paper industry. Retired, he now is even more focused on bugs, trout and conservation, including being a founding member of TU-CARES.
Wayne will present “Labrador – Place, People & Possibilities” from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
He will focus on his bucket-list fishing trip to Labrador, Canada, in pursuit of trophy brook trout, and will walk attendees through all the aspects of his recent trip to the famed 3 Rivers Lodge. It will include details on the painstaking planning process involved with a remote fishing destination, meticulous travel plans in a post-Covid environment, and, of course, the fishing.
We will also have Grand Prize raffle tickets for sale for our upcoming chapter banquet on April 29, 2023 at this event.
