7:30 – Program
Graeme visited Xcalak, Mexico in the Yucatan Peninsula for his first experience fishing saltwater flats for Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish in July of 2024. The group was hosted by Geri Meyer, co-owner of the Driftless angler, and XOTF (Xcalak on the Fly). The trip was delayed a week due to the arrival of Hurricane Beryl that landed on the Yucatan Peninsula near Cancun/Playa Del Carmen to the north of Xcalak. The presentation will go into all aspects of the trip – location, how to get there, managing expectations for your first saltwater strip, how to prepare for the trip, gear (rods, reels, flies, etc.), weather, clothing, costs, etc.
In November of 2024, Graeme had the opportunity to visit Northern Argentina to fish for Golden Dorado. This trip was again hosted by Geri Meyer, co-owner of the Driftless Angler, and also by SET Fly Fishing. This trip was focused on fishing in two different marshes and included multiple different lodge locations. The presentation will go into all aspects of the trip – lodge locations, how to get there, what to expect, gear (rods, reels, flies, etc.), weather, clothing, costs, etc.
