Established in 1976, the Central Wisconsin Trout Unlimited Annual Fly Fishing School is the first and longest running instructional program of its kind in our area. This school is perfect for those who want to make their first steps into the river as productive and educational as possible. Learn to fly fish or hone your existing skills through group sessions and individual guidance from our team of instructors consisting of some of the most experienced fly fishers and fly tyers in Central Wisconsin. Their combined fishing experience totals over 500 years!
We make it easy and fun to learn everything from various fly-casting techniques, stream entomology, tackle selection, trout stream ethics, knot tying, fly pattern selection, wading safety, to how to play, land and safely release a trout.
This special learning opportunity includes interactive classroom, on-stream instruction and one-to-one guided trout fishing on a local stream on the final morning (unique to our school).
The 2-day school takes place at the facilities and grounds of the Riverside Bible Camp on the Tomorrow River at 6355 County Road DD, Amherst, Wis.
Saturday’s schedule includes breakfast followed by a mix of classroom sessions, streamside demonstrations and hands-on activities. Class breaks for lunch and then resumes on-stream activities until late afternoon. Students will be on their own for dinner and lodging.
On Sunday, breakfast is again provided, followed by on-stream guided fishing or personal instruction, if requested. School ends after lunch.
Enrollment is limited to 24 students to ensure low student-teacher ratios. To register for the June 2023 school, click on the brochure below, or click on this link: https://tu.myeventscenter.com/event/Dan-Harmon-Iii-Fly-Fishing-School-Presented-By-73281
